I've never understood people's obsession with facebook. I have had an account for several years but I very rarely check it (once every few months). I mainly use it to send out invites for events or to post photo albums. I understand its usefulness in keeping in touch with friends, especially if they live far away. As all of my friends live in the city, and as I really only have a dozen or so friends that I care about (not the hundreds of "facebook friends" that everyone seems to have), the site hasn't held much interest for me. I don't even think I've ever posted a "status" update. For me it is definitely a time waster.
